In our last video we shared about our new Bus Adventure!

Hello Friends!

We’re back with a long awaited update! It’s been nearly a year (who’s counting, right?) since we last checked in, and wow, what a journey it’s been. Buckle up as we share about our summer in Minnesota, and a dash of bus renovation madness.

A Summer of Change (and Extreme Heat)

While surviving Arizona’s sweltering 118-degree heat, we hustled to finish up our bus remodel just enough to head north to get out of the extreme heat! From tearing out 30-year-old carpet (spoiler: it was as gross as you imagine) to installing all new plumbing and window tinting, every inch of that bus got some love. Highlights? A new composting toilet, bunks, and even a repurposed countertop made from an old door!

Rollin’ North

Our migration north wasn’t without hiccups—from welcoming our neighbor Gretchen as a “stowaway” travel companion, to a muddy campsite with a 3-hour parking process. There were medical detours, epic family reunions, and, of course, the ultimate summer adventures: fort-building in the woods, a week at bible camp, $$ earning jobs by the lake, swimming and catching fish.

Big Summer Moments 💧

  • Maverick made the life-changing decision to be baptized by JD in the lake—a memory that will last a lifetime.
  • JD was working full-time doing solar installs, keeping the family (and bus) running.
  • Lia sported a groovy ‘70s dress and won “Best of the ’70s” at the homeschool mom prom.
  • Hosted a Kid-only campfire complete with sparklers at the campround.

Listening to a New Calling

One of the biggest updates? JD started having literal dreams of music ministry after years away from touring. God’s timing was at work, and the family has been praying and leaning into this new possible chapter. (Stay tuned—the full story is coming in a dedicated episode!)
