This story deserved its own video, and it’s close to our hearts—one about dreams rekindled, steps of obedience, and the wild, beautiful ways God can shape our journeys.

🎸 The Journey Back to The Stage

JD shares about his past life as a touring musician, the difficult choice to lay it all down, and the unexpected nudge—3 vivid dreams—that started drawing him (and the family!) back toward the stage. If you’re someone who’s wondered about returning to a former passion, this is one for you.

🙏 The Power of Community Prayer

After sharing his dreams with Lia and our church prayer group, JD found himself “in the hot seat”—literally! Surrounded by friends, they prayed and spoke words of encouragement, reminding him to let God open the doors and to avoid striving for things that aren’t meant to be. This was true authentic prayer support.

🎶 The Presence Music Connection

Here’s where things get wild: JD reached out to a local band he’d seen play once, the year before, not really expecting much. What began as an “obedience” email led to an audition, a phone call, and suddenly, an offer to join Presence Music for shows across Minnesota and beyond. Just two weeks from that first email to joining the band—proof that sometimes obedience unlocks amazing opportunities.

Music & Ministry as a Family

What makes this story special? JD, Lia, Gibson, and Maverick all get to participate together—on the road, supporting at the merch table, wrangling little ones, stage tech and joining in the adventure. Family and ministry, side by side.

The summer ahead means taking the bus on tour with Presence Music, new cities, and new faces, with the whole family in tow.

  • Protection: From attacks from the enemy.
  • Ministry: For the ministry opportunities that will be happening this summer at shows
  • The Bus: For the bus to be running smooth
  • A spirit of non-striving as we step into this new opportunity
